Quality Assurance

Mission

The Quality Assurance and Institutional Advancement Department at the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ (º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ QAIA) supports the University to achieve its mission, initiates quality control activities, and contributes to self-assessment processes which are integral parts of educational activities and aligned with international accreditation standards. Amongst others, the QAIA department is involved in the following:

  • Institutional reporting for accreditation and other development purposes.
  • Develops key performance indicators to meet the goals and objectives of the strategic plan
  • Supporting evidence-based decision making.
  • Sustaining the evaluation and assessment cultures.
  • Conducting institutional effectiveness initiatives.

The vision of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ QAIA Department is to become a national and regional model in Quality Assurance and Institutional Effectiveness in Higher Education.


Adherence To Quality Networks

The º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is a member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation International Quality Group (CIQG). The CHEA International Quality Group is a rewarding and important forum for colleges, universities, accrediting and quality assurance organizations and others worldwide to address issues and challenges focused on quality and quality assurance in an international setting.



Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education, United Kingdom


The º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is a Full International Member of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education. QAA is one of the world’s experts in quality assurance that is trusted by higher education providers and regulatory bodies to maintain and enhance quality and standards.

Full international membership is available only to institutions who achieve the QAA Global Accreditation.


As part of this accreditation, the IQR team found eleven examples of good practice. The team also made four recommendations which are of a desirable for improvement and enhancement. Committed to excellence and as part of the IQR process, the º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ developed an action plan to maintain the 11 good practices and address the 4 recommendations for further enhancement.





QAA Global Accreditation


The º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ has successfully obtained global accreditation having completed the International Quality Review (IQR) by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA). IQR is a rigorous process, which benchmarks global higher education institutions against international quality assurance standards set out in Part 1 of the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ QA Policy is built upon the below key pillars:

  • Dedication to Excellence: º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ is committed to excellence and strives to achieve it through voluntary external evaluations to assess or reassess its alignment with defined international quality standards. The QA policy ensures the continuous improvement of the academic programmes, academic and administrative operations, resources, and community engagement in the milestone.
  • Policy-driven practices: º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ practices are implemented in light of dynamic, current, and continuously revised policies to ensure fulfilling the university mission and vision. The key policies currently available at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ are contributing to the alignment with quality standards including the European Standards and Guidelines 2015.
  • Data-driven decision making: Through the QA policy, º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ relies on a strong Information management eco-system powered by state-of-the-art platforms to ensure accurate measurement of indicators and provide handy tools to monitor success.
  • Synergies between units: The QA policy requires achieving synergies and collegiality between various units, thus contributing towards and beyond achieving the strategic goals.
  • Cross boarder cooperation in QA: QA policy stipulates systematic benchmarking of QA policies and other key practices and against recognized references. Those references are broad and cover institutions from across the globe such as US, UK, Europe, and the region.
  • Encouraging Engagement: The policy encourages stakeholders to actively participate in the continuous improvement processes, as their input and feedback are essential for achieving the institution's goals.
  • Commitment to integrity and equal opportunities: QA Policy supports inclusiveness and equal opportunities for students, faculty and staff members throughout their journey at º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½. The integrity and professional behaviour are essential to all aspects of º¬Ð߲ݴ«Ã½ activities.
